Medcities is a network of Mediterranean coastal towns belonging to 20 different countries. The main objective of MEDCITIES is to examine the problems, constraints and needs of the Mediterranean coastal towns concerning environmental protection and management and to solve them in the framework of a sustainable development. Medcities are active in the fields of Governance; Institutional strength; Public awareness; and prepare action plans in solid wastes, waste water, water supply, air quality, upgrading slums, traffic, etc…

Medcities would be able to comment and contribute to papers/ initiatives/seminars. They could also contribute to a greater dialogue between the municipalities who participate in the Campaign and non-European municipalities bordering the Mediterranean
